Why we have music is much more difficult to explain than how and why we use music. Music is based on a lot of things that we refer to in life, if you were asked the question, am I a lot happier when music is being played when I am working? Like mine, your answer to that would probably be yes, especially if it is music that you can sing along to that you know or associate with happy times.
What does this have to do with Oldies stations? Recently I was listening to the local Oldies station and they played one of these late 1970s “Punk” bands, based on the terms used at the time. Even if you prefer to go with the current, more accurate description of New Wave, should it be played on an Oldies station? In fact, this station and others play a lot of food inspiration from the early 1980s.
Meeting new people, seeing new places and basking in life’s experiences are the greatest sources of inspiration. If you want to try out some more obscure artists, keep your eyes peeled for free music available from them. Even the most popular sites, like Amazon and iTunes, offer free downloads from time to time. This is great way to build your music library without spending money on tunes you may or may not like.
Don’t be concerned it is simple for those who have the will and patience. Just continue reading your lyrics in addition to singing them out loud and you will discover that the rhythm and melody was already in lyrics. You simply have to find it and trust me you will.
Don’t get me wrong after I learned how to play guitar. I would write my lyrics, hum my melody and make sure to mirror the melody on the acoustic guitar.
It is very important that the participating training partners rows synchronously according to the music beats. After a little practice you will find it easy, fun and very rewarding to exercise with music this way. Paces below 24 SPM and over 28 SPM are bit more demanding to follow for less experienced rowers. Remember to praise your training partners for their efforts. Training to rowing adapted music is growing very popular, because it is a lot more fun to train hard to good music. Have fun!
