I have been on a quest to get in shape for years. I played basketball in highschool and was in amazing shape when I graduated. I went through college eating junk, chasing women (which wasn’t much of an exercise) and sitting around watching Jerry Springer. After college I focused on my career and starting a family. Like many others I tried every piece of workout equipment that came along and every diet I could find. Some worked, some didn’t but the ones that worked took a lot of time and effort that I didn’t have.
Have you ever been on a holiday and survived with only a suitcase or a backpack of possessions? Did that time measure amongst the happiest in your learn more? Wasn’t it a relief not to have to be maintaining or cleaning all your other possessions during this time? Put this same principle into your daily life.
It is important to choose what workout lifestyle routine that best suits you, when trying to lose weight. What fits for some may not be the best for the others. Each individual has different requirements in order to lose weight. Some may opt for hard workouts while some prefer easy ones.
But nowadays you don’t have to go to a gym to workout. You can get a full body workout at home. Yes, your own home workout routine. All you need to do is find the right home workout program and you are on your way.
Regardless of working out 5 times a week, or just once, you CAN get a complete and full-body workout that gives you everything you need. Think less of how to divide up your muscles into categories for working out on particular days together. Rather, think MORE about the TIME each week you can commit to exhausting your muscles. The only additional benefit to a total-body workout done in a single day is that you ONLY have to do it ONCE a week. workout broken down into 3 or 4 days a week, on the other hand, will not take nearly as long as the one-day workout. Personally, 4 days a week works great for me. But this is only MY choice, not necessarily a recommendation. The key is finding what works for YOU!
You will also need adequate rest and sleep each day. Your body will need to recuperate from the relentless exercises you need to do. It needs to heal itself from the sudden onslaught of heavy activity that you put your body through.
For example, for many years I walked around in my job saying, “I have had a gutful of this.” When I became unwell, one of the things they surgically removed from my body had taken up 2/3 of the space between my diaphragm and pelvis. I quite literally had a gutful of it. As a result I am very careful about what I constantly say to myself. I would not say that something ‘is a pain in the bum’. I am aware of how easily I manifest things in my life and would prefer to be a little smarter about what I manifest next time.
