Yoga And Music – Recommended Aural Stimulation

There are many different kinds of music genres in the world today. It would be very difficult to name, mention and discuss them all within one article! However, I will outline the most popular genres and types of music that individuals like to listen to today and explain a little about them. Music is certainly a wide topic to talk about and music really does make the world go around. Without music our planet would be a boring place. Music can say a lot about our personalities, our way of like and the way we live. People also use music in many different ways. It can be a way of life, relaxation, something that people make in their spare time or some people just cannot live without it! Music is also used in therapy and healing. Below are some genres that people love.

What does this have to do with Oldies stations? Recently I was listening to the local Oldies station and they played one of these late 1970s “Punk” bands, based on the terms used at the time. Even if you prefer to go with the current, more accurate description of New Wave, should it be played on an Oldies station? In fact, this station and others play a lot of personal from the early 1980s.

Watch an inspiring movie. There are lots of them out there! Remember some flick you saw ten years ago, one that left you with an uplifted feeling? Fire up the VCR or DVD player, and watch it again. I watch “It’s A Wonderful Life” several times a year, even in the summer time, just to rekindle that feeling of inspiration it always gives me. Which movie will do it for you?

Sometimes we use music to heighten the mood we are in. Maybe you just broke up so you want to hear ‘crying in the your beer’ type songs, or the blues. Maybe you just won something, or accomplished something difficult and want to hear a song that is inspirational. I know I love to hear “I Can See Clearly Now The Rain Has Gone” when I need inspiration, or need to be picked up. We use music to help us change our mood too. We are sad, but want to feel happy. Music can help us do that.

If you do send your music to radio stations and shows that are likely to like and play your music, then you may very well get some airplay and this can also accumulate. They are free to join and take a small percentage from music royalties they claim for you. And they hunt them down internationally. Research radio stations that may specialise in your music – I make quite unique or weird creative music and still find enough outlets to play and support my independent music.

“Inspiration” of a person means to infuse that person with a “spirit.” That’s why the word is primarily used in spiritual, or religious, contexts. And that’s as it should be. Back at the office, then, why do my clients keep hearing that they need to “inspire” their people more? What does spirituality, or even God, have to do with making my unit’s quarterly numbers? Personally, I think it’s because times are very tough, and people are starting to realize that their spiritual health drives their earthly performance. Even if they aren’t “churchy” people, they want what inspired people have. They want to be driven by that “spirit,” whether they recognize it as Heavenly, or as a simple spirit to perform, to achieve, to help, or to lead.

So we can’t all be making loads of money from our music but you could be missing out on some moneys you are due. You could actually make quite a bit of money from your music. I have only shared a few avenues of revenue I know of and reap rewards from making my creative music. It can be straightforward and could be a surprising amount.
