You will be able to keep snacks, food, and drinks cold and fresh. When you are pulling all nighters it can really come in handy. Even if you have a pass to the cafeteria it will not always be open and you can be hungry and have nowhere to go. Keeping snacks in your dorm room will definitely help you out and keep your mind alert. A compact refrigerator or mini fridge can be a very useful item to keep in your dorm room.
